Here it comes! This is the month! The great annual Florida event that excites, titillates, enthuses, causes fun, merriment, glee, and an all around great, fantastic, enjoyable and memorable time. I am speaking of the Florida State Square and Round Dance Convention, held at the Lakeland Civic Center, in Lakeland Florida. As we all know Square dancing is “Friendship set to music” and this is a great time to reacquaint ourselves with old friends not seen since last convention and meet and greet new friends. This is a time to dance with callers from across Florida, some who have national and international calling experience. This dance has something for everyone. As you read through the program in this issue just look at the variety of callers and programs, all designed and put skillfully together for your entertainment and dancing pleasure. The halls will be decorated, the sound will be balanced, and oh yes there will be vendors. The Florida State Square and Round Dance Convention is a Square Dance shopper’s paradise. I should also mention for new dancers, that all of the clinics, workshops, and teaches during this event are free. Your entry fee includes every dance, class and workshop that you choose to attend. So get out the dance shoes, put on those square dance clothes, and wear a big smile and lets dance.
